Attack of the Zombies

Scott and I are experimenting on how to get to Boston. We have driven in - but oh the traffic! Today we tried to Bus. It was great, there is free wifi to keep Scott happy, and little lights for reading to keep me happy. So far, we really like the bus.
We got to hang out by our favorite library for a while before meeting up with some buddies.

We even ran into a Scott look alike! Which is the real Scott!?

We walk our way down and hung out at the Commons for a while where we got to see a pretty cool memorial for Massachusetts soldiers. Each flag represent one fallen soldier from Mass.
We weren't out for long when it started raining, than pouring, so we ran for cover. The timing couldn't have been better (for us). Right after a few minutes of us being safe out of the park rain, a HOARD of Zombies came running out of the subway and through the park. There were 3,500 of them, can you believe that!!!!

Pretty gross, and pretty weird. But I guess you never know what to expect in Boston!

Home Sweet Home

We had great luck in finding an apartment. We found one on Wednesday, moved in on Friday! On Saturday, our real first day in the apartment, we went to TEN yard sales and game back with some great finds. One great bookshelf, one great mirror, an awesome couch (totally not creepy or gross at all), and two wonderfully adorable cheese plates I do love my cheese!). We ate dinner at a local place called the Puritan Backroom where they are famous for their chicken tenders. And we now know why!!!!!!

But I must admit, I liked our first dinner in the apartment best!

Cheese, hummus, and veggies!! That's our new coffee table (5$), and our new Pottery Barn couch (80$)!

Things began to settle down, we took a bike ride and got library cards, rented a few movies, and had a chill night after a long day of Yard Sales.

Sunday brought a new ward, a new chapel, and many new friends! Church was wonderful, and we even sang There Is A Green Hill Far Away (thanks Mom!). Back to our new apartment to do some fixing up!

On the Road Again

It’s Saturday Morning and off we go. Everything we own is in a truck, and we are in our car with just enough stuff to keep us going until we get our truckload. We headed straight to Colorado to hit up Deb and Jaran. What hosts they were! Their little apartment was so clean and perfect and it was such a blast to be with them and little Spiklyn (their puppy). We went to dinner at this delicious burger joint (Lark Burger) and their French fries were just to die for!! (Of course I have to mention the fries) We spent the evening and night with them, and headed back onto the road Sunday morning. We decided to take the 70 this time to get in a few more states. What a beautiful drive. I mean, it did rain the whole time, and I mean the ENTIRE time. But the land was so green, I just loved it. We got to see a few more stadiums: the Rockies, the Royals, and the Cardinals. All three stadiums were spectacular. The Rockies stadium welcomes you into Denver as it sits in front to open up the city. The Cardinals sit right across from the huge Arch! St. Louis interested us very much since the bottom of the city was totally flooded by the Mississippi! Crazy!

We wanted to get to Manchester as fast as we could to have time to find an apartment, so we didn’t get to do as much sightseeing as I would have liked. From St. Louis we spent the night in Columbia,OH. On Monday, we woke up early to prepare for a long day of driving. We stopped in Buffalo for some delicious Buffalo wings, but kept driving all the way to Syracuse. That was over 1000 miles in one day! A long day for me! Tuesday we headed straight into Manchester, but started the day off first with a wonderful breakfast. We stopped in the super tiny town of Canajaharie for a delicious diner breakfast. Anytime anyone walked into the dinner, they were greeted BY NAME! and usually they didn’t even have to order, the people just knew what they wanted. Immediately Scott asked if we could just stay there forever. But, back on the road we went for our final day of travel.

Here was a cool building in the town. Susan B Anthony taught here when it was a school!ghy\\\\\\

We got into Manchester, but went on to the next town up, Bedford, to stay with a family as we searched for an apartment. The Cooks were incredible. They made us feel right at home and fought to convince us to move to Bedford. Man oh man I would in a heartbeat! Bedford is absolutely beautiful! There are so many trees, so many trees! And every home has the feel of being in the forest.

Just One More Stop Before Real Life Begins

After Hawaii, we headed back to Lafayette to say goodbye to the fam before moving to New Hampshire. Dad was building a 120 ft well so we got to watch him be Bruce Willis for a few days and Scott even got to help (while Dad and I went to an A’s game. What a husband!!!) We had tons of fun with Jocelyn, that girl is too smart for her own good! Lots of YogurtLand and lots of family – my kind of vacation. Straight from California our vacation continued right to Arizona to watch BYU Lacrosse play in the National Championships! Jessie was incredible. All the girls were; I couldn’t believe how they could run in that kind of heat! We stayed with Grandma Ewart for a night and it was so fun to watch her play with little Andrew, who was a great sport all weekend!

After Arizona, Scott and I had just a few days to pack up all our stuff. Thanks to Julie, Jess, and Elise, we were able to do that. I can’t believe we are really moving! Really starting a grown up life so far away! It’ll be an adventure, I can’t wait!
