Before jumping into this, I should mention one of my coworkers offered tickets he had extra of to this event. Me and Cat really had no expectations.This years World Championships for Chili making were, oddly enough, held in Manchester NH's downtown, just a few blocks from my office. The crowd was much much bigger than we had expected - and that immediately got us excited. They had climbing walls, cheese tasting, a honestly surprisingly amazing band onstage, lil street massagers, ...and of course chili. They gave us each 5 tickets and each ticket was to be used for a small cup of chili. After the first couple people didnt seem to care about us actually using the tickets me and Cat tried everything!
My favorite quote from the event was from some Texans, who were obviously disappointed at the quality of a few competitors, and said "Some of these people are just taking chili out of a can! A can! And they even leave it out for you to see"
Hilarious day, and wonderful event.
